I still haven’t got round to getting an amateur radio licence. So as a stop gap and yet another distraction, I have thrown myself back into CB Radio. I dug out my old power pack and SWR meter but I was missing the essential ‘Rig’ (CB radio) and ‘Twig’ (antenna). So I headed to my closest shop selling CB equipment.
Love this! I remember my first point of call was AJ Electronic on Bilton road in Rugby. In later years, he moved to bear Rugby tip. I will always remember cycling from Rugby to South Kilworth with my full rig set up on my bike. It was a huge thing for me to achieve as I was (still am!) Overweight.
I bought my CB from Clay Lane. I lived over the road from the shop. Just renewed my ham licence but I might have to invest in a CB just for fun.
Had one years ago, in my fiesta’s used it all over the country, used to go to the top of Dunstable Downs in the rain and get the bounce to Germany.

I must get mine out the shed.
