Start with The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes (1939) with the wonderful Ida Lupino. It’s a fun a follow up to the Baskervilles. After that they jump forward in time to be set in the 40s so he can tackle the Nazis. Still fun but the earlier the better generally and some prints are awful after falling into public domain.
