The battery tester is a great idea, I might get one of those for my gadget drawer in my office because I’m pretty sure we’ve not exhausted all of our batteries destined for a local recycling centre.
Our Samsung TV came with two remotes, one that is solar chargeable with the option to connect to USB-C. The other a traditional kind which takes batteries.
It really works very well. We need more of this sort of thing. When I was a kid back in the 80s, heading for my teens, Dad worked for Bandai. We had these wonderful electronic games around the house in little clamshell cases, that you’d open up and the solar panel built in would power them. They were just LCD but were endless fun. He has recently sold some of them to collectors and I might have one left over upstairs in our own loft.
There was a Donkey Kong game too if I remember correctly. We were spoilt as we had all of these “samples” to play with and they remained with us long after Dad left the company for other opportunities.

A solar charged remote is very cool indeed. :-)

I remember them. I also had one or two. Breakout was one of them. :-)

I had that as well but I wasn't sure if it was solar. Might see if I still have it. Will need to rummage. :-)
One for the next dispatch 😉
