What is on the fitting / lens guard end of your lens? I have the X100VI, too. Mine looks substantially larger. Does that vignette at all? I'm guessing the answer is no but it's so much more streamlined than the hood I use.
Hi, Thanks for taking the time to comment. The hood is this one... https://amzn.to/3Xc2XQN Or at least an older version as I have had it a while. No perceivable vignetting, but it did obstruct the internal flash a little. I hadn't use the internal flash but have I have swapped it out to try this one... https://amzn.to/3MBlmBs Far more expensive but cheaper than the fancy one everyone seems to be after. It has less flash obstruction but it's still slightly visible.
I've had a synology so long now I've forgotten how long I've had it (technically 2 - first one around 2003/4. It eventually became unsupported so I moved on, I think in around 2012). This one has had a disk upgrade in 2018 or 19. Granted I don't do anything fancy with it, just use as a fileserver - if I tried running more of the server packages it might show it's age.
+1 for Synology. I've had two, upgraded my current easily for more space and support has been good for a long period. Think it is only going to run out soonish after many years. DS413 running as NAS, not using web features.
Oh, and if you want to browse some BW photography, I'm one hal of www.henni.photo 😎
Yes, I remember Flickr plug-ins that did similar and many years ago, and a friend of mine, Richard Mackney once created a map system for me so that I could link multimedia to a map of the SXSW festival. It’s nice to get a geographical sense of where an image was taken.

Thanks. My current hood obstructs the flash too but I haven’t really used the built in flash. Thanks for the links!

Cheers Paul. Like the photo map on the site. And thanks for subscribing!
It's a feature provided by our web host, Smugmug, which I really like as we often get asked about photo locations.

Cheers Paul. It seems like Synology is the way to go.
Thank you for the link and I’m so glad you’re enjoying the podcast! ❤️
I am totally enjoying the ride. Great work. So much to ponder on. Thanks for doing this. I hope there are more in the pipes.
We’ve recorded 20 so far and have more scheduled to record after the Easter break.
Woot!
