Great post!

Rain Today is an awesome app - we use it all the time for work (photography, very often outside) and it's saved our bacon an insane number of times! 🤣

Ah the joy of behaving like a pilot, checking the doppler radar to sneak your way between, rather than through clouds, and it's good not to wear leather moccasins on a motorbike. Minimalism is great, on foot. I did try minimal shoes and cycling. It works, but, I find, it hurts my heels.

Yes, I contemplated making the comparison to flying around the weather as I felt like I was. But I was only working in two dimensions and not three. The only time I flew a plane myself was in glorious weather so I really can’t compare. But if it’s only a little more amazing than what I experienced I would love to try :-)

I wear minimal footwear on my bicycle and it works fine. I’m wondering how you can hurt your heels when only the balls of your feet should really be on the pedals.

I was curious about the same thing. I did a 50km ride on a flat route and they felt fine. I did 50km with a lot of climbing and descending, 500m of it, and I suspect that this tired the heels. I'm also relatively new to "barefoot" shoes. Usually cycling shoes are rigid.
