For hundreds of years multi panelled paintings, usually religious, have been known as diptychs, triptychs or polyptychs depending on the number of hinged panels. Nowadays you may know Diptic as an iOS app used to group a series of photos or images into a single image. Other apps are of course available. I’ll let you find them.
