Palmdale to Santa Barbara
After a dreamless night we were up and packing the bikes a little after 8am.
Now north of LA we were heading west to the coast. Dressed in anticipation of a chilly mountain pass, we first grabbed a decent breakfast at Jacks Place in the Leona Valley.
Just your standard roadside restaurant but these places have been consistently good. Traditional American staples, sometimes with a twist. Your biscuits and gravy, chicken fried steak and Jalapeño bacon mac n cheese. I plumped for omelet, with feta and avocado accompanied by a giant hash brown. Of course while we waited for our order we drank strong black coffee that would miraculously refill itself.
As we ate we listened to customers chatting property prices and the rising cost of fuel. We couldn’t help but join in, offering opinions from the east coast and UK.
